Advice on Concorde please

  • Hello

I am currently looking for a Concorde which I intend to use for long touring over the next 3/5 years providing everything goes well with health etc.

As I am a beginner and a long way from the German market, my research is mainly on mobile.de, although last year I made a couple of trips to some dealers in the south.

Here are two models which seem to tick the boxes of what I believe my requirements will be. I have been following some threads here including the "Weight and Payload" one and learn a lot.

I would appreciate any comments :

Here is one which has been on my 'watch list' now for about one year! I wonder if anyone here has seen or knows it?

    and here is another

    https://such.mobile.de/fahrzeugen/details.html?id=377738339&scopeId=C&action=parkItem

also seems interesting but already with 3 owners?..makes me wonder if coming to sell later with so many owners would be a problem.

    As said, any comments welcome.

Greetings from wet and grey Ireland

    Timothy

  • Hi Timothy,

If you have the opportunity and time to wait I would suggest to visit the salon in Dusseldorf in September. 24 halles with everything from VW vans to 12m long, 3 axes Actros based RV's https://www.caravan-salon.com/

It is even fun if you do not plan to buy a RV.

And I encourage you to keep reading the fora. It took me 4 RV's in 10 years to figure out what works best for us. Obvious things such as size, weight and floorplan. But also details such as how the cupboards are locked so they are easy to open but cannot open while driving. Or how the plumbing should be made. And what is prioritized. We never had airco and TV but our Phoenix, which we bought second hand, has 2 TV and an Airco. TV we have used a few times, airco never. But we love the compressor refrigerator (KIssmann) which we turned out to be a gem. Same with the hydraulic levelling, Never missed it, now I cannot do without.

But what we appreciate most is almost complete lack of rattles in the interior. Our previous RV's were much more noisier when driving over bad roads. And these were not budget models.

The only downside in better recognizing quality in materials, craftmanship etc is that the last one was almost 20x as expensive as the first one and almost 4 times as heavy. :-))

  • Hey Toine

thanks very much for your thoughtful response.

Well, in the rather long time that I have been researching and moving towards getting 'on the road', my journey has been similar in terms of what I started thinking about and where I am now. I have decided that compromise on space is not worth it for me. I also will not go without black tank, hydraulic levelling and other comforts, so definitely I am moving towards the truck chassis in terms of weight and payload, and of course my budget has grown, and grown again.... I hope to finally get to a conclusion before spring '24!

    Best regards

    Timothy

  • Thanks to Cristof I have now reposted the two vehicles that I would love to get some feedback on.

    Timothy

  • Hands down the Atego. I.m.h.o much nicer interior. + real glas windows, kissmann refrigerator,

Thank you for your reply Toine. I thought I had replied immediately, but forgot to click the final button..

About this one, I had wondered why it has been on sale now for about one year as far as I know......?

  • I am a little surprised at only one response to my request...is it not an allowed topic or have I misunderstood something?

Even if it is not so much of a contribution, I hoped that it might also have been interesting for others....

  • Maybe a language problem?

Give it a try on our english version:

just one click on the flag in the header above.

    Cheers, Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for your suggestion. To follow your suggestion does it mean starting again on the 'english' tab?

    Hello Timothy,

stay here on the German side of the LinerTreff as the English version still doesn´t have enough traffic to support such a question.

I´ve taken the liberty to have your initial post translated and hope that our Users here will have an easier access to your question. You might need Google Translate or a similar tool to translate the German Answers though.

    Cheers, Thomas

    An die LinerTreff´ler:

Hier eine Übersetzung der Eingangsfrage von Timothy. Könnt Ihr ihm dazu etwas sagen?

    VG, Thomas

P.S.: da die beiden Links unten im Quellcode nicht funktionieren, hier nochmal:

    Link zum Fahrzeug Nr. 1

    Link zum Fahrzeug Nr. 2

  • Thanks Thomas.

Yes, I am using Chrome with Google translate as my standard set-up when on the LinerTreff.

About the links: the first ones I posted somehow are contaminated, so I re-posted them further down the chain, and also now again below.
