Alu ab Werk oder nachträglich

After having US Alcoa alloys on my Yankee RV with heavy maintenance, and now the Goldschmidt's on my Flair which are degrading after 4 years I would not have RV alloys again. They are a problem to maintain, their life expectancy is short, they very often need spacers and carrying a spare is a big issue for that reason. So I have selected steel wheels with stainless covers this time. Also you can get Alcoa wheels for 33% of the factory cost, not that I would have them.

if you take the polished version of Alcoa and wash them regurlaly you won‘t have so much problems with rims getting dull. But Mercedes doesn‘t deliver them ex factory.
Here in germany there are some companies where you can habe your alcoas polished in high gloss with a real smooth surface. But it does keep you cleanung and wiping.

If you have the „early“ version of Goldschmitt alloys i am with you. They replaced mine after one year against the winterfit version without me having to pay anything. And that was 4 alloys plus 2 alloy wheel covers because i change between (real) winter tires and summer tires.

How about your Morelo - when is it definitely yours? And what do you do with your NB?

Radkasten ausschneiden lassen (direkt bei ORC), der erste Schnitt war nicht tief genug, erste Kurve - ratsch - war die Verkleidung weg. Nächster Versuch, alles gut.

Dann versagten nach 2.000 KM die Luftbälge von Goldschmitt weil sie falsch beim Händler eingebaut wurden. Ich „hätte“ mit den Standardrädern weiterfahren können, aber nun lag der Aufbau so tief, dass die Räder keinen Platz mehr fanden. Goldschmitt beauftragt seinen Partner in Ungarn, kommt in 2h, regelt alles in 4h, wieder alles gut.

Nur hab ich auf sowas keine Lust mehr. Daher würde ich eher auf ein schickeres Design verzichten als mir das nochmal anzutun.

Eure Ratschläge dazu sind sehr willkommen.

Da wirst Du Dich schwer tun, passende Alus 6 Loch mit der notwendigen Traglast zu finden. So weit ich weiß, kosten die bei Goldschmitt um die € 200,-/Stück. Was die Blenden für hinten kosten weiß ich jedoch nicht. Dazu benötigst Du die speziellen Radbolzen sowie ggfls den Stern um Deine Ventilverlängerungen anzubringen. Hi Elbert,

I had seen the coated Alcoa's but they were never as "blingy" as I could achieve on my un-coated ones, but with 8 wheels on the RV, 6 of which were alloys (22 inch lifting tag) it would take my wife and I 3 days to get them looking the part. NiBi would not replace my Goldschmidts, and as they have been fantastic with all the other issues I did not press it as I was being very fussy.
On the Morelo some news, I had an email this week saying it would be delivered to the dealers next Friday and that they want me to go to the factory next week to check it over before it leaves for the dealer. Gluck are taking my Flair back in PX (it is left hand drive) so we are on the Chunnel this Sunday evening with it for a leisurely drive down to Schlusselfeld for Wednesday or Thursday, but they have yet to say when they want me there. I am sure they think I am Captain Kirk with a transporter room that allows me to do 1500km in 1 nano second!
After that we will have a drive down part of the Romantic road to Sulzemoos arriving at Gluck when they say they are ready to handover. So I need some good weather 25th onwards please!

Die neueren Felgen gibt es in "Silver" oder "Bicolor" (Morelopreisliste S. 25). Im Meierprospekt sind die bicoloren abgebildet.

Haben wir so geordert und auch bekommen.

Als wir in 2017 unser Fahrzeug bestellt hatten, stand das genau so wie heute in der Preisliste. Ich hab das damals schon nicht verstanden. Wir haben uns beim 2. Morelo bewußt gegen die Alus entschieden, da ich das ganze Zeugs wie Adapterplatten, Radschrauben usw. nicht mit rumschleifen wollte.

Also wir haben auch die Vollluftfederung mit den Serienfelgen. War kein Problem bei der Bestellung auf die Alus zu verzichten. Zumal uns die Alus gar nicht gefallen.

Wir haben auch nur Stahlfelgen mit Jumbo Radkappen um zu vermeiden mit verschiedenen Felgen (Alu und Stahl) rum zu fahren.

Wenn du ohne Alus mit Vollluft bestellst dann ist vorn automatisch eine Verbreiterung drauf da sonst das Rad an dem Luftbalg schleift.
